Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat said on Sunday that the portfolio of development cooperation constitutes 23% of Egypt’s external finance, exceeding 26 billion dollars.
Under the portfolio, 372 projects are implemented in various development fields, the minister said at a meeting with a delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
She pointed out that Egypt deals with development partners within the framework of partnership and strategic relations at bilateral and multilateral levels.
The talks tackled the status of ongoing development projects between the two countries, in addition to Egypt’s preparations for hosting the COP27 Conference and the International Cooperation Forum (Egypt-ICF).
The minister voiced Egypt’s keenness on promoting relations with international partners to support development efforts in various fields.
She pointed out that funds provided by development partners for the private sector amounted to $4.7 billion over the past two years or 23% of the total financial portfolio.
