Minister of Environment, Tarek Al-Kahtib, chaired on Tuesday a meeting with a World Bank delegation, during which a presentation was delivered on the progress of LEPAP program, designed to mitigate industrial pollution.
The Minister seized the occasion to thank the WB for its continuous cooperation, and briefed the visiting delegation on the repercussions of the massive Syrian influx into Lebanon, especially at the environmental level.
The Minister went on to ask the bank for grants, other than loans, that could help Lebanon surpass this crisis.
"The best solution remains the return of Syrian refugees to their motherland," the Minister added.
