Justice Minister, Albert Serhan, on Tuesday assured citizens that the process of fighting corruption had kicked off. He also affirmed that this process would not spare anyone.
"Perpetrators will get punished and those innocent will be declared innocent," the Minister said in a televised interview.
He went on to make clear that his utmost priority would be reorganizing the Ministry of Justice.
"I've started to form an advisory body to develop a general strategy for the ministry. We have formed a joint committee to rehabilitate justice palaces," he added.
As for the refugee dossier, the Minister of Justice stressed that "in depth there is one approach to the refugee dossier. Everyone would like the return of refugees to Syria today before tomorrow."
He pledged to purify the judicial body and to work on ensuring independence to the judiciary from politics.
"I have personally lifted immunity from judicial assistants," he added, noting that there are a number of judicial assistants undergoing judicial inspection," he added.
