Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq el Mulla underlined the importance of strategic and economic relations between Egypt and the US, according to a statement by the ministry on Saturday 11/12/2021.
Ongoing cooperation in energy is unprecedentedly growing between the two countries by upping investments of US companies in the oil sector in Egypt, added Mulla in remarks during his current visit to the US.
In Washington, the Egyptian official had meetings with a number of members of the Congress, said the statement.
The statement added Mulla’s talks took up developments of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum as part of deep and strong coordination and partnership between Egypt and the US.
Mulla discussed with the US lawmakers Egyptian-US coordination regarding a global climate summit, to be hosted by Sharm el Sheikh next year.
The US MPs commended important reforms and development in Egypt, in addition to its important regional role.
