NCFA concludes training workshop on family protection guide from violence

The training workshop on the reference guide for protecting families from violence, which was organized by the National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA), in cooperation with UNICEF, on Thursday concluded activities. The event aimed to enhancing capabilities of workers and service providers in family counseling centers in the Kingdom's various governorates, according to a NCFA statement. Speaking during the closing ceremony, NCFA's Assistant Secretary-General for Technical Affairs, Mohammed Zoubi, said this guide came to affirm the council's role in "institutionalizing" Jordan's protection system from violence by focusing on setting up a national action mechanism, based on a "participatory" approach that brings together all stakeholders. Zoubi noted the workshop is part of an "integrated" training program on the guide's contents, as the previous training sessions targeted workers in Jordan's three religious institutions of Ministry of Awqaf, Supreme Judge Department, and General Ifta Department. On the workshop's goals, he noted activities targeted guidance service providers, given their "pivotal" role in providing an "integrated" counseling service that reflects "positively" on family life and society as a whole. During the workshop, participants reviewed the guide's contents, which were outlined by a group of experts and representatives of religious institutions. In addition, the event highlighted National Framework Document for Family Protection from Violence, which defines foundations for providing prevention and protection services and coordination mechanisms among all institutions that provide services for violence cases to secure integrated and comprehensive services within a "systematic" supervision and follow-up process, the statement said.
