NEW YORK TIMES RANKS OMAN TOP OF ARAB COUNTRIES IN TOURISM

MUSCAT, Oman, Jan 12 – New York Times recommends tourists to visit the Sultanate of Oman in the year 2015, and ranks the Sultanate on top of the Arab level, in tourism, due to its potentials in tourism and historical treasures, security and safety.

The American newspaper also ranked the Sultanate in the 20th position globally, among 52 countries in the world.

This classification came, due to the efforts being exerted by the Government of the Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Tourism, through the development of tourist facilities, in various governorates, and the restoration of ancient castles and historic forts, that are considered major cultural inheritance, as well as, establishment of many tourist resorts and complexes.

The classification attributed this to the continuous visits and participations of the Ministry of Tourism, in the Arab world and international meetings, to promote the Sultanate as a tourist destination worldwide, in addition to the invitations by the ministry, to senior figures and officials in the World Tourism Organisation, to take advantage of the Sultanate’s membership in that organisation.
