The Kingdom is expected to experience a slight increase in temperatures on Tuesday, with normal summer weather over the highlands and plains, while the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will see scorching conditions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Jordanians are being advised to prepare for a heatwave as a hot and dry air mass from the Arabian Peninsula is expected to move into the Kingdom on Wednesday. The weather department has reported that mercury levels will rise significantly, exceeding the usual averages for this time of year by about (4-5) degrees Celsius. While the weather will be hot in most regions, it is expected to be sweltering in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
As the summer heatwave persists in Jordan, various regions are set to endure further scorching temperatures on Thursday and Friday. According to the recent JMD report, the hot weather will continue to prevail in most areas, with extremely hot conditions expected in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. The winds will be moderate northeasterly, occasionally picking up.
Today’s peak temperatures will be between 28 and 33 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 20C or even 17C in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 41C and lows of 28C.
