Several protesters suffocated from teargas today as Israeli occupation forces attacked the weekly anti-colonization protest in the village of Bit Dajan, north of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Israeli occupation soldiers fired rubber-coated rounds, stun grenades and teargas at protesters taking part in the weekly protest in the village against colonial Israeli settlement activities, causing many cases of suffocation among the protesters from gas inhalation, said Ahmad Jibril, a spokesman for the Palestinian Red Crescent.

For many years, Palestinians and international activists have been holding weekly protests in Beit Dajan and in other villages in the occupied West Bank against the illegal Israeli settlement practices, including confiscation of Palestinian lands in favour of expanding Israeli settlements.
