OMAN POLICE TO TAKE PART IN MEETING IN KUWAIT AND SAUDI ARABIA

MUSCAT, Oman, Oct 20 The Royal Oman Police (ROP), will participate today (Monday), in the 10th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Steering Committee for the Smart Card, in Kuwait.

The ROP delegation is headed by Brigadier Abdullah bin Mohammed al- Jabri, Director General of Human Resources.

The meeting will discuss a number of issues relating to civil smart card and the use of its applications in some areas, like health file, application of the programme to read what the card’s electronic chip contains and to use the card in the electronic gates at airports in the GCC countries.

ROP will also participate in the 3rd meeting of the Committee on GCC Vital Industrial and Petroleum Installations, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh, on Oct 20-22. The ROP delegation will be headed by Col. Jamil bin Sarid al-Hasani, Commander of Oil and Gas Facilities Police.

This participation comes within the framework of the exchange of experiences, knowledge and best practices, applied in the GCC countries, in order to achieve the security and protection of vital petroleum and industrial installations.
