A Palestinian young man, 24, succumbed to very critical wounds he sustained earlier this evening after being shot by Israeli forces’ live fire in the village of Umm-Safa, north of Ramallah. Member of Umm Safa village council, Mohammed Bahar, said Israeli soldiers opened fire on the young man, who was identified as Abdel-Jawwad Hamdan Saleh, from the village of Arora in the Ramallah area, shooting him in the chest The youth was transferred to hospital where he succumbed to his very critical wounds shortly after, said the ministry of Health. Israeli forces stormed the village during the early noon hours and deployed heavily throughout its streets ahead of the anti-settlement march expected to take off following the Friday noon prayer. The residents marched to protest the establishment of a settlement outpost near the southern entrance of the said village. The official told WAFA that forces closed the entrances of the village and deployed soldiers on the rooftops of several high buildings ahead of the peaceful march. Following the Friday noon prayer, protesters marched to the grazing fields, where an outpost was erected by settlers in June, and brought their cattle there. Earlier today, settlers, backed by Israeli forces, assaulted the villagers with clubs and rocks, shooting and injuring a youth with a rubber-coated steel bullet to the hand. For the past few weeks, the village has been witnessing escalated Israeli forces and settlers’ attacks against it, including the burning of homes and vehicles and the usage of live fire against residents and their homes. This Israeli crime brings up the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation forces today to three and since the beginning of the year to 201. Two Palestinian youths were shot and killed today morning by Israeli forces’ fire in the Old Town of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus
