Munich, Patriarch Mar Ignatius Ephraim II of Antioch and All the East for Syriac Orthodox stressed the need to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria and to lift the unilateral economic measures imposed on Syria.
The Patriarch's remarks were said in a seminar on the situation in Syria during the Munich Security Conference on Sunday.
The Patriarch highlighted suffering of the Syrian people because of the unilateral economic measures imposed by some countries illegally on Syria, demanding that the Syrian people be allowed to determine the future of their country without external interference and facilitating the return of all displaced Syrians to their homeland.
He also requested the assistance of all parties concerned with the crisis in Syria to know the fate of abducted Aleppo bishops Paul Yazigi and Yohanna Ibrahim.
