PM directs ministers, officials to work on advancing real estate finance sector

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli highlighted directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as regards the importance of revitalizing the real estate finance sector and further facilitating procedures related to the citizens’ access to housing units according to a real estate finance system.

The move came during Madbouli’s meeting on Thursday 14/4/2022 with Minister of Justice Omar Marwan, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem el-Gazzar, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Gamal Negm, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) Mohamed Omran, in addition to other senior officials.

The meeting aimed at following up all measures required to revitalize the real estate finance sector.

The prime minister directed the ministers and officials to form a small working group, bringing together a number of officials concerned to consider means of propelling the real estate finance sector; given its many positive effects witnessed in several countries.

The move can be achieved via adopting more legislative and procedural amendments in full coordination among the government, the CBE and the bodies concerned, the prime minister noted.
