Baghdad, The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, directed today, Saturday, to hold continuous meetings between trade unions, federations and sectoral government agencies to mature ideas related to programs and projects, with the aim of presenting the necessary ones to the Council of Ministers to take the necessary decisions in their regard.

Al-Sudani’s media office stated in a statement today that “Al-Sudani chaired today the first session of the Supreme Committee for Coordination between the Council of Ministers, trade unions and federations, which was established according to special laws, and based on directives during the meeting that Al-Sudani held with trade unions and professional and sectoral federations in November last year.

During the session, which was attended by the head of the Iraqi Journalists Muayad Al-Lami, the Prime Minister referred to “the government’s vision of the importance of coordination with federations and unions, as they represent the shadow ministries and backing and supportive of the government’s plans in implementing its government program in the axes of reform and development, providing services and fighting corruption.”

According to the statement, the session witnessed the discussion of mechanisms to support federations and unions to carry out their role and perform their desired tasks, in addition to discussing the topics on the agenda, which included working papers presented by a number of federations and unions heads.
