Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted on Sunday the importance of developing the Egyptian Ambulance Organization and General Authority for Health Insurance to continue to offer better health services for the citizens.

Madbouli’s remarks came during his meeting with Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Insurance Mohamed Dahi, and Chairman of the Egyptian Ambulance Organization Mohamed Gad.

Abdel Ghaffar said about 69.5 million citizens benefited from services offered by the General Authority for Health Insurance within a year, pointing to the opening of new departments at the authority’s hospitals.

About 22 million citizens have been covered under the umbrella of the health insurance system.

The minister also referred to the authority’s participation in the 100 Million Health Initiative and the national project to end waiting lists.
