Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli held on Tuesday 16/8/2022 a meeting with Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali el Moseilhi to follow up on measures for establishing more grain storage silos, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The premier stated that the steps taken to develop the grain storage capacity greatly contributed to enabling the State to face successive global crises and achieving food security, especially in light of the constant presidential instructions on the necessity of having an adequate stock of strategic commodities.

The supply minister said that new wheat storage silos with a capacity of nearly 500,000 tons would be constructed in Upper Egypt’s Toshka area.

Moseilhi added that other silos with a storage capacity of some 120,000 tons would be set up, as part of the “Egypt’s Future” agricultural project.

The supply minister noted that the State targets erecting further grain silos, particularly in agricultural areas across the country, in a bid to provide additional storage capacity for strategic crops.
