Poland is ‘ready’ to deliver six more MIG fighter jets to Ukraine, the Polish president said on Wednesday. ‘We are ready to hand over six more MiGs to Ukraine and assume that they could be handed over in the near future,” Andrzej Duda said in a joint news conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Duda said that Poland has so far delivered eight MiG fighter jets to Ukraine. He added that Poland also has MiGs that have undergone modernization and are being adapted to NATO standards. ‘We will still need these MiGs, but as they are gradually being eased into the new FA-50 and F-35 aircraft batch, I believe that in the future we will be able to transfer our entire remaining fleet of MiG-29s to Ukraine, if necessary,’ he added. Duda briefly summarized the military support given to Ukraine so far. ‘We handed over 300 tanks to Ukraine, Krab gun-howitzers, a lot of other equipment, including Piorun rockets and others that are in our stock, to help the defenders of Ukraine who are heroically resisting the Russian invader,’ he said.
