Police nab 12 drug dealers in nationwide bust

The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) apprehended 12 drug traffickers in recent campaigns spanning from the northern Irbid governorate to the far south in Aqaba.

Media spokesman for the Public Security Department (PSD) on Sunday said a drug dealer was caught in possession of 30,000 narcotic pills in the Aqaba governorate, in addition to two others carrying 11 palm-sized hashish blocks.

In Ramtha, agents arrested three traffickers, and seized 76 hashish blocks and 7,000 narcotic pills, added the spokesman.

AND personnel raided a drug dealer’s house in Irbid, nabbing him and his two partners in possession of two kilograms of crystal meth, 250 grams of cocaine, and a firearm.

Furthermore, two drug traffickers were apprehended in Mafraq, seizing 1,000 narcotic pills and three firearms, while in Amman, a dealer was caught in possession of 14 hashish blocks.

An extensive security campaign against drug dealers and individuals wanted for drugs was carried out in Zarqa Governorate by the AND, resulting in the arrest of 20 people.
