Head of the Islamic Supreme Shiite Council, Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan, on Wednesday met at the Council's headquarters with British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hugo Shorter, with talks between the pair reportedly touching on bilateral relations and most recent developments in Lebanon and the broad region.
Sheikh Qabalan stressed that peace can solely be achieved in our region through ending the Israeli occupation of Palestine, Lebanon and Syria, and the return of the Palestinian refugees to their homeland.
On the other hand, Qabalan hailed national coexistence amongst all the Lebanese, who join efforts and work together to fortify and consolidate such a unity.
Qabalan also shed light on the brunt of the huge influx of Syrian refugees into Lebanon, stressing the dire need to find a solution to the refugee crisis in coordination between the Lebanese and Syrian governments, in order to secure their safe return.
