Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi, met on Tuesday with the French Episcopal Delegate for Relations with Muslims, Father Vincent Feroldi, in Bkirki.
After the meeting, Feroldi said that his visit to Lebanon was aimed at gathering information about relations between Muslims and Christians residing in Lebanon.
He added that he visited Morocco and Cairo in the last two years, noting that his trip to Lebanon is of great importance amidst the difficult situation in the Middle East, especially with regard to the refugee file and its serious repercussions on Lebanon and Europe.
"To preserve the Lebanese identity, Syrian refugees must return to live in their own social environment," deemed Feroldi.
Finally, the French Episcopal Delegate said he was impressed by the frankness and clarity of the Maronite Patriarch's viewpoints.
