Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rahi, said on Sunday he was praying for the Prime Minister designate to manage to form the government as soon as possible, noting that the country could not bear postponement or delay of such a process.
In his homily at Sunday Mass celebrated in the patriarchal see, the prelate said that the socio-economic, financial, developmental and security of Lebanon required speedy action to salvage them, as directed by the President the Republic.
The Patriarch also prayed for the cessation of destructive wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Palestine, calling for serious negotiations that lead to political solutions to conflicts. Such solutions would ensure the return of refugees to their countries, as a basis for just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East.
