Receiving credentials of Syrian Ambassador, Indian President reiterates her country’s support for Syria

New Delhi, The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on Wednesday accepted credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Bassam Al-Khatib, underscoring her country’s support for the Syrian people in all circumstances.

Murmu noted that India’s support included providing programs for capacity-building and development, giving the establishment of India-Syria Center of Excellence for Information Technology in Damascus as an example.

The Syrian Ambassador extended President Bashar al-Assad’s greetings and keenness for enhancing the deeply rooted historical and cultural relations between the two countries.

The Indian President ,in turn, conveyed her greetings to President Bashar al-Assad and extended her thanks to Syria for supporting India at the international organizations and forums, wishing Syria and its people continued progress and prosperity.
