He also called for maintaining the Astana track because it is the best way to find a political solution for the crisis in Syria.

Larijani reaffirms necessity of depending on political solution to crisis in Syria

Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani reaffirmed necessity of depending on the political solution to the crisis in Syria.

During a meeting with Speaker of the Algerian Parliament Suleiman Shanin in the Serbian capital city of Belgrade on sidelines of the 141 Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Larijani said that Iran since the beginning of the crisis in Syria and the war in Yemen has suggested a political dialogue, yet some states have insisted on the war.

Speaker of the Algerian Parliament, for his part, affirmed his country's support to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Syrian and Yemeni territories.

He asserted rejection of military interference in other countries, underlining necessity of depending on dialogue and laying the bases of security and stability in the region.
