AMMAN, Russian and Syrian militaries began Friday a 10-hour humanitarian ceasefire in northern Aleppo, starting from 09:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m. local time.
The Russian Defense Ministry and the Syrian Military have stated that the lull is meant to allow trapped civilians as well as gunmen to leave the northern neighborhoods of the city.
The Syrian army pointed out that six corridors would be opened for those willing to leave the area.
It also stated civilians and gunmen in the eastern neighborhoods can use the humanitarian corridors to get out of the area.
For their part, the Free Syrian Army and other opposition factions have turned down the regime's unilateral ceasefire
