RUSSIAN DEFENCE MINISTER: MOSCOW READY TO DISCUSS SUPPLYING SYRIA WITH S-300 MISSILE SYSTEM

MOSCOW, Russia, Russian Defence Minister, Sergei Shoigu, said, Moscow is ready to discuss the issue of supplying Syria with the S-300 missile system.

In an interview with Italian newspaper, Il Giornale, Shoigu said that, the decision to provide such type of weapons to any foreign army is taken, upon a request, and there is no request till now, so it is too early to speak about that in particular.

The Russian Minister noted that, the aggression launched by the US, Britain and France against Syria, showed the necessity of Syria, possessing modern air defences, and Moscow is ready to discuss this issue.

On the other hand, Shoigu said that, the US is trying to destabilise the situation in Syria, and to prolong the crisis in it, indicating that Washington hasn't allocated any money, to help the Syrian civilians, who have been affected by the war.

He added that, civilians in Raqqa city, still die, because of the ammunition and the mines left there, due to the intensive shelling by war planes of the international coalition.
