Russian defense chief inspects army in war zone

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu on Saturday inspected the army in the zone of “special military operation,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Shoygu received a report from the commander of the Vostok group of armies, Rustam Muradov, at a front-line command point, and presented to soldiers orders of courage, St. George’s Cross decorations, and medals for bravery, the ministry said.

“The awards are deserved, earned. You fight with dignity! There’s still a lot to do. I do hope that you will continue to serve our country faithfully. Good luck to you, success, and, of course, (return) home alive,” it quoted Shoygu as saying.

During the inspection, the defense minister paid particular attention to issues of supplies and organization of living conditions, as well as work of medical and rear units, the statement added.
