Russian long-range bombers destroy sites for ISIS in Deir Ezzor

Moscow, The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Monday that six Russian long-range bombers launched airstrikes on the sites of ISIS terrorists near Deir Ezzor city.

A source at the Ministry said that command centers and weapons stockpiles for ISIS were successfully destroyed due to the strikes, explaining that Tupolev Tu-22M3 bombers carried out the strikes after they entered the Syrian airspace, flying through Iranian and Iraqi airspace, with Su-30SM and Su-35S jets providing air cover to the bombers from the Hmeimim airbase.

The ministry noted that the Russian bombers returned to Russia after successfully completing their combat mission in Syria.
