People’s Assembly Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh affirmed the depth of historical relations between Syria and Mauritania, indicating that Syria goes on with strengthening relations with countries and peoples that have stood by it.
Sabbagh During a meeting on Monday with MP Mustafa Aldah Sohaib, Head of the Syro-Mauritanian Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee, and the accompanying delegation, Sabbagh appreciated the mutual relations and the honorable stances of official and popular stance of Mauritania towards Syria and what it was subject to during the terrorist war waged against it.
For his part, MP Aldah Sohaib stressed his country’s determination to continue developing relations with Syria in various fields, and noted that the Mauritanian people is keen on standing by Syria and supporting it.
The delegation members pointed out that they will convey to the Mauritanian people the reality of the current situation in Syria, especially the negative effects of the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on it.
