RAMALLAH, Palestine, Jan 14 – Saudi Arabia said Tuesday, that, it transferred $60 million, to the Palestinian Authority (PA), after Israel froze millions of dollars in tax revenues, when Palestine joined the International Criminal Court.
The Saudi ambassador to Egypt, Ahmad Qattan, said in a statement, that, the $60 million represented three months’ payments of a monthly contribution of $20 million.
The money covers the Oct, Nov, and Dec payments, the statement said.
It said that, in the wake of Israel’s decision to freeze tax funds, Saudi Arabia had decided to increase its monthly support from $14 million to $20 million.
Qattan said, Saudi Arabia would continue supporting the Palestinian cause.
