Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah on Friday said that the main challenge facing Palestine nowadays is the "deal of the century."
"We will be able to stand up to this deal," Sayyed Nasrallah said in his speech at a crowded ceremony held in Ashoura Square at Beirut's southern suburb (Dahiyeh), on the occasion of International Al-Quds Day.
The ceremony took place in the presence of representatives of President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, and House Speaker, Nabih Berri, as well as scores of political, party, parliamentary, military, religious and diplomatic dignitaries.
Nasrallah opened up his speech by describing the current stage as "sensitive and difficult," hailing the demonstrations that occurred in the various world countries on International Al Quds Day, notably those that took place in Iran. He said that the demonstrations in Iran have carried a clear message that those who are betting on the Iranian people's weariness are mistaken.
Nasrallah also considered that the main challenge today in the face of Palestine is the "deal of the century," saying "it is a threat facing the Palestinian cause."
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that countering the "deal of the century" is a legitimate, religious, political, moral and humanitarian duty "because it is a falsehood deal desecrating Arab and Islamic rights and sanctities."
Nasrallah deemed the deal of the century as a "historic shame" and a "historic crime."
Wondering whether it was possible to stand up to this deal and abort it, Nasrallah said "Yes, we can."
The Sayyed emphasized that the "resistance axis" nowadays is stronger than ever, stressing that those betting on regional people's weariness to impose the deal of the century are mistaken.
Sayyed Nasrallah also hailed the resistance strength, resilience, deterrence and vigilance in Lebanon, noting that Syria overcame the plot of destroying it, saying "it is still in the axis of the resistance."
He also referred to US political failure in Iraq and Yemen.
