Serbian Border Police detained three people Tuesday who were carrying radioactive materials in a vehicle at the Bezdan border crossing with Croatia. Police said the radioactive material was detected in a vehicle that was about to cross March 4 into Croatia. The suspects are Croatian nationals and the material was hidden in the spare tire of the vehicle, according to statements. Director of the Serbian Institute of Health Studies, Aleksandar Milonavic, said nine police officers working at the border where the radioactive material was found were taken under observation but it was determined that they were not exposed to radiation.
