Shop owners in West Baalbek cutoff the road to protest Syrian labor rivalry

Shop owners and trade merchants in the region of West Baalbek cut-off the road linking the towns of Beit Shama and Bednayel for some time on Sunday, to protest against the competition of Syrian laborers, NNA correspondent in Baalbek reported.

The protesters raised slogans calling for organizing the work of Syrian laborers, deeming that "the Lebanese have become refugees in their own homeland!"

They called on the Lebanese state to "put an end to Syrian rivalry and close popular markets that harm the interests of Lebanese citizens."
