President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Sunday the celebration of Labor Day is a great opportunity to stand on Egyptian laborers’ achievements in support of building their country.

In his speech marking the occasion of Labor D.ay that falls on May 1, the president congratulated all Egyptian workers on the approach of Eidul Fitr.

President Sisi said the world has recently witnessed many crises, most important of which the coronavirus pandemic, as workers bore the brunt of the pandemic, for many of them lost their jobs, as new modules of work fully incorporating modern technology came forth advocating advanced automated techniques, thus the State has given prior attention to devising digital transformation into the various sectors and services of the country.

The president highlighted the State’s efforts to support the most vulnerable social categories, through empowering them financially and offering cash grants for irregular workers, as well as mingling them into the State’s public sector, through providing different job opportunities.

He also underscored the State’s drives to pay irregular workers’ wages at struggling companies, through the Employees Emergency Fund.

The State has adopted a number of decisions and created advantages in favor of workers that helped overcome and assuage the untoward impact of the crisis, the president said.

President Sisi referred to international institutions hailing Egypt’s strides to address the financial crisis that gripped the world, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, considering Egypt an exemplary model in this respect.
