Sisi stresses Egypt’s keenness to boost close ties with Kuwait

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed Egypt’s keenness to boost close and distinguished cooperation with Kuwait at all levels, including strengthening Egyptian-Kuwaiti parliamentary ties.

Sisi made the remarks during his meeting on Sunday with visiting Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq al Ghanim, in the presence of Egyptian Parliament Speaker Hanafi el Gebaly, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.

President Sisi welcomed Ghanim and conveyed his greetings to Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the spokesman added.

On his part, Ghanim conveyed the greetings of the Kuwaiti emir and crown prince to President Sisi, affirming that his country is proud of its strong historical ties with Egypt.

The Kuwaiti national assembly speaker stated that Kuwait was keen to foster coordination with Egypt on different issues, especially in light of the pivotal role played by Egypt in the region.

The meeting took up different aspects of the bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.
