Dubai: Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) has launched the Labour Force and Labour Migration Survey, which covers all regions of the emirate, according to a statement on Sunday.
The survey includes 4,500 households in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Gharbia. It covers demographic characteristics of the emirate’s labour force, employment status, and participation rates in economic activity by a range of characteristics, occupational structure, as well as economic activities of the employed population, unemployment rates and the methods used by job seekers to find jobs.
Also, the survey will show the changes in the labour force characteristics over the years, provide estimates of labour migration between the emirate’s regions and between Abu Dhabi and other emirates.
The survey’s field work operations will last for around a month. A targeted sample is distributed across Abu Dhabi’s three regions. It includes citizen, non-citizen, share households and permanent residents of labour camps during 2013.
