Damascus, SANA- Maestro Hossam El- Din Primo passed away on Wednesday at age of 60 after a struggle with illness.
Culture Ministry, Syndicate of Artists, academic music institutions, and Syrian Musicians have mourned Maestro Primo, who was born in Damascus 1962, and who is considered as one of the founders of academic ensemble singing in Syria.
The late maestro participated in several bands and choirs, as he played the Oboe instrument with the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra.
He founded choirs of different ages, including “Luna” choir, which comprises five chorales and an orchestra, in addition to other choirs such as “Rainbow”, “colors” and “Rose”.
Primo held several positions, the last of which was Assistant Director of Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.
