Since day one of the Syrian crisis, President Bashar al-Assad said that the enemy will try to invest in all the fields," Ambassador Ali Abdul Karim Ali said, adding that the Syrians will remain robust and will not relinquish their sovereignty.
Abdul Karim Ali's words came during a lecture on Tuesday about the "Challenges and Motives of the Syrian crisis and the tension mitigation zones" at the Institute of Palestinian Studies in Beirut.
The diplomat noted that "discrimination acts are being practiced [by the Lebanese community] on the Syrian Refugees," recognizing the "burden of the displacement of Syrians on Lebanon," while wondering about the inaction of the Lebanese government in this regard.
He noted that the "Syrians wish to return to their homeland because they don't feel safe outside their country."
