Syrian Arab Republic: Earthquake response dashboard (HCT-coordinated response areas), 6 – 23 February 2023

Overview

The people of Syria continue to suffer from the impact of the multiple earthquakes that hit southern Türkiye and Syria on 6 February. While the entirety of the impact of the earthquake is still being assessed; the humanitarian community estimates that at least 4 million people residing in the Syria Humanitarian Country Team (HCT)- Coordinated response areas were affected; with two million assessed to have been severely affected. The situation in the affected areas remains dire with hundreds of thousands still displaced, either in collective shelters or in host communities and extensive infrastructure damage. Humanitarian organizations continue to scale up the response, but inadequate funding continues to hamper the efforts. To date, about 409,000 people have been reached with at least one form of assistance.
