Syrian-Russian discussions on boosting environmental cooperation

Sharm El-Sheikh, SANA- Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Hussein Makhlouf, discussed with Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Sergei Anopriyenko, means of promoting the bilateral cooperation ties between Syria and Russia in the domains of environment and combating climate change.

That came during their meeting on the sidelines of UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference being held from 6 November until 18 November 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

Meeting with Anopriyenko, Makhlof asserted the importance of activating the previously signed cooperation agreement between the two sides on the field of environment along with holding bilateral meetings for promoting such cooperation.
