Head of the “Democratic Gathering,” MP Taymour Jumblatt, met in Moscow with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, over an array of most recent developments.
A statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that talks also touched on the situation in Lebanon, with both sides focusing on “the necessity to form a national unity government led by Prime Minister-designate, Saad Hariri, in the nearest time possible.”
The statement added that the Syrian side renewed its position supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, in addition to the non-interference of external sides on its domestic affairs.
The pair also discussed the situation in Syria and the refugee dossier.
