Temperatures to drop, heavy rainfalls expected over costal region

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures will continue to drop to become slightly below average in most regions as the country is affected by a superficial low air pressure accompanied by a relatively cold and moist air mass in all layers of the atmosphere.

Meteorology Department expected in its Tuesday bulletin that the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy and rainy and the rainfalls will be heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms sometimes, particularly in the coastal region, warning against floods in the low areas and valleys.

The winds will be southwesterly in the southern region and easterly to northeasterly in the other regions with a low to moderate speed and the sea waves will be low to moderate in amplitude.

The expected temperatures in some major cities will be as follows:  Damascus 19 / 13, Daraa 19 / 12, Homs, 20 / 11, Hasaka 23 / 11, Tartous 24 / 16, Aleppo 19 / 13, Lattakia 24 / 17.
