The 4th conference of the Arab Federation of Arab Cities and Industrial Zones kicks off in Damascus

Activities of the Arab Federation of Arab Cities and Industrial Zones kicked off on Monday in Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

 

The conference discusses the successful investment experiences in the Arab cities and industrial zones, and Arab economic integration in this field.

 

The participants in the conference, including officials, Arab and Syrian businessmen and investors, focus on the role of Arab cities and industrial zones in making a qualitative shift in the Arab industry strategy and the role of technology, information systems, technology, and information management (IM) in business development to attract investments.

 

Delivering a speech during the opening of the conference, Minister of Industry, Ziad Sabbagh, stressed the need to direct Arab economic and industrial cooperation on the basis of the economic interest of the Arab peoples , pointing out that the industrial cities are among the most important industrial sector development projects, as they  contribute to addressing social and economic problems, attracting domestic and foreign investors, and reducing unemployment.

 

In turn, the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz al-Khabbaz, stated that his country works to create real Arab partnerships to broaden the prospects of industry in order to maintain economic balance and benefit from the Syrian experiences in the field of cities and industrial zones.

 

Chairman of Damascus and its Countryside Chamber of Industry Samer al-Debs, called on Arab investors to work and invest in Syria due to the presence of an appropriate environment, particularly after the issuance of the new investment law.

 

Chairman of the Iraqi Federation of Industries, Adel Hussein, pointed out to the great improvement witnessed by the industrial sector in Iraq, particularly in the industrial cities, calling for the implementation of joint plans to ensure the commercial exchange of raw materials and expertise to develop the capabilities of the industrial cities.
