TVTC chief highlights need to bridge skills gap

The general authority of Technical and Vocational Training participated in the Human Resource (HR) Forum, which was held for five days with the support of Minister of Labor Adel Fakeih under the slogan “After the correction,” on Sunday.
Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) Gov. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis said the main goal of the forum was to raise awareness in the private sector about the new labor regulations and the ongoing policy of regulating the labor market. The participation of Saudi women in the labor market and the role of small enterprises in the creation of new job opportunities were among the other topics discussed.
“The participation of TVTC in this forum comes within the policy framework of Ministry of Labor, which is seeking to fill the gap with qualified and professional Saudi work force,” he said, adding that TVTC trained 116,000 young Saudi men and women, and made them available to the labor market in different sectors.
He added that a number of programs have been implemented for the benefit of industry through the transfer of technology.
The TVTC is keen to pursue its program of forging partnership with the private sector and provide outstanding training programs.
Such partnerships will be done with local and international institutes, including Japanese, American, Canadian, British and Dutch.
