The United Arab Emirates Embassy announced in a statement released on Wednesday the launch of the 2019 Winter Campaign to support Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
The campaign coincides with the "Year of Tolerance" launched by the UAE President, Sheikh Khalifa Ben Zayed Al-Nahyan, through donations by various donor institutions, most notably "UAE Red Crescent", "Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works", "Sharjah Charity Association" and "Charity Works" Association.
The campaign will cover all Lebanese regions, especially the most needy and underprivileged areas, in cooperation with the Ministry of State for the Displaced and official Lebanese authorities, as per Embassy statement.
The campaign's urgent humanitarian aid coincides with the current cold wave endured by Lebanon, aimed to assist the displaced Syrians and the affected Lebanese alike.
It is to note that this is the fourth consecutive campaign launched by the UAE within the framework of its humanitarian and charitable commitment to stand by the displaced people and the host Lebanese community, statement concluded.
