Abu Dhabi: The UAE Football Association (UAEFA) allowed Al Jazira to field three of the club’s players now in the training camp of the UAE youth national team in their Group A match against Al Rayyan, from Qatar, on Tuesday in the AFC Champions League.
Ahmad Rabie, Khalfan Mubarak and Ahmad Al Attass will be eligible to play in their first-ever AFC league encounter before returning to the UAE under-19 team, which is training in Dubai to prepare for the two friendly matches against their Egyptian counterparts.
Al Jazira has resumed their training sessions following a short break after their Arabian Gulf League match against Dubai on Thursday and are preparing for the opener of their Asian campaign at home (kick-off 7.20pm).
The Qatari club delegation arrived on Saturday led by Shaikh Khalid Bin Hassan Al Thani, the chairman of the football committee at Al Rayyan. The visitors trained on Saturday night at Al Jazira’s external ground and will hold their main training session at the venue of the match, Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium, on Sunday.
