Head of State, Michel Aoun, chaired a security meeting at Baabda Palace on Monday afternoon in the presence of Army Chief, General Joseph Aoun, the deputy chief of staff of operations, General Nawaf Jibawi, the Director of Intelligence, General Toni Mansour, and the Director of Operations, General Jean Chidiac.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces shall provide the President with supporting maps of the Lebanese-Syrian border situation and the measures taken by the LAF to prevent the infiltration of terrorists and to assist civilians and displaced persons alike.
President Aoun praised the Army's readiness to repel any attack on Lebanese territory and protect the population and the displaced and ensure their safety in the town of Arsal and its surroundings and in other villages and towns along the border.
"The results of the latest field developments will be positive in terms of reducing terrorist attacks and practices against civilians and military personnel alike. This will restore security and stability at the border," he said.
