Major indices in the US stock bounced back from previous day’s losses to close Thursday higher.

The Dow Jones was up almost 372 points, or 1.17%, to 32,246. The S and P 500 rose 68 points, or 1.76%, to 3,960.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq increased 283 points, or 2.48%, to 11,717.

The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, plummeted 12% to 22.99, while the 10-year US Treasury yield rose 2.5% to 3.581%.

The dollar index fell 0.2% to 104.43, while the euro gained 0.3% to $1.0613 against the greenback.

Precious metals were mixed, with gold adding 0.1% to $1,910 per ounce but silver decreasing 0.3% to $21.70.

Oil prices rose more than 1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $74.67 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $68.28.
