Who said reformed party girls don’t dream of a fairtyale wedding? Pakistani actress Veena Malik, who’s now Veena Assad Khan Khattak, is fulfilling her desire for a big white wedding.
“Ever since childhood, I have always wanted a white wedding and Assad is giving me that in the US. I feel so blessed because whatever I have wished for has happened in my life,” said Malik in an interview with tabloid! in January.
On Monday, the media savvy Malik sent tabloid! dozens of images chronicling her dream-like wedding day on a cruise ship in Washington. Her white wedding is one of the many celebrations that followed her low-profile nikkah ceremony in Dubai on December 25 to UAE-based businessman Khattak. The couple, whose meeting at the US embassy in Dubai sparked a whirlwind courtship, has plans for celebrations in Dubai too.
The former model, who’s best known for a racy photoshoot for FHM India in which she appeared nude with the letters ISI (used to refer to Pakistan’s intelligence agency) stencilled on her arm, is now basking in marital bliss.
“It’s a different world for me. When you are in showbiz you are on a run. It’s like you are part of a race and all of a sudden you stop somewhere. Being able to do that is the most beautiful feeling. I am enjoying that phase. I feel so calm and relaxed,” said Malik.
