Activities of the 12th Eurasian Economic Forum continued on Wednesday in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, with the participation of Syria.

In a speech at the opening session of the forum entitled “Russia and the World in New Realities, Changing World Economic Relations”, the Syrian Ambassador to Russia, Riyad Haddad, stressed that the courageous decision taken by the Russian Federation to launch a special military operation aimed at defending the people of Donbass and protecting Russian national security and uprooting of Nazism in Ukraine did not stem only from the importance of the goals set by Russia for this process, but was represented by the repercussions of this decision on the entire international system.

Haddad said that the sanctions imposed by the West on the Russian economy and their impacts on the countries that imposed them are catastrophic failure in terms of material losses and unprecedented inflation in their internal markets, while Russia is living a normal economic situation.
