Capitals, SANA- The novel coronavirus has claimed the lives of more than 3 million and 391 thousand people worldwide since its outbreak in December 2019, according to the latest statistics of the American Worldometers website which tracks the latest developments of the virus.

According to the website, the total number of the coronavirus infections worldwide has reached up to 163,655,320 and the deaths have climbed to 3,391,728 while the recoveries have amounted to 142,092,093.

The US still on top of the worst-hit countries by the virus in terms of the number of infections and fatalities after recording 600, 137 deaths out of 33,711,887 infections, while India comes in the second place with 274,411 deaths out of 24,964,925.

Brazil comes in the third place with 435,751 fatalities out of 15,627,475 infections.
