Four Palestinians, including a 7-year-old child, were injured by live ammunition this evening during an Israeli military raid into the town of Awarta, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to medical sources.

Ahmed Jibril, a spokesman for the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Nablus, said a 7-year-old child and three teenagers–two of them aged 18 and the third aged 20–sustained gunshot wounds to the neck, hand and back respectively after being shot with live ammunition by Israeli occupation forces in Awarta. They were promptly transported to hospital, with the child’s injuries described as critical.

The Israeli occupation forces had stormed the town of Awarta, carrying out a search offensive that included provocative raids into several homes. The incursion escalated into confrontations, leading to the unfortunate injury of the child and the young man.
